Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Preparation in Elementary Education
The Alternative Route to Licensure (ARL) teacher certification program at GBC enables students who have completed an undergraduate degree in a field other than elementary education to become eligible for licensure to teach in Nevada.
In order to apply to the program, a student must have already completed a baccalaureate
degree from a regionally accredited institution as well as have an offer of employment
from a NV school district. If no offer exists at the time of application, students
may do a post-baccalaureate program until an offer is made available.
To complete the Post-Bacc or ARL program as efficiently as possible, it is imperative that students seek advising from education department personnel upon acceptance into the program.
